O: Patient removed L figure 8 wrap last night. Palpated L shoulder and noted humeral joint shifts slightly out of placed on rotation. Took rads and coracoid fracture still very displaced. Performed PT to L wing. Applied L fabric wrap and body band. Secured body band w/ duct tape. Retrieved 59g of scrap.

A: Patient's L coracoid is still very displaced and no callus noted on rads. L humeral shifts between large gap and coracoid fracture site. Still needs a body band to allow shoulder to heal, but bird has constantly been pulling and wing wraps and body bands. Tried to pull body feathers out from underneath body band to keep band in place.

P: AD review rads and assess L shoulder on vet check.

O: No crepitus or laxity felt on palpation of R leg/hip, bird has good use of leg in hand. Small healing wounds noted at the end of both D2s. Wing and body wrap in place, removed - L coracoid and L clavicle fractures still unstable. Able to get full PROM with PT. Replaced figure-8 and body wrap. Previous feather loss along both patagial tendons. Checked eyes: able to see more of retina OU as debris in vitreous is starting to resolve, OD has small retinal tears above and below pectin, OS has retinal hemorrhage/tears and possible detachment ventral to pectin.

Meloxicam: 0.24 cc (1.5 mg/ml compounded) PO

A: Bird appears to be tolerating wing and body wrap and has started to eat on own. Can see damage to retina as debris in vitreous is resolving but bird is not acting like a blind bird overall (finding food), still has some leftover head trauma.

A: Adult barred owl hit by car last night, left coracoid fractured and displaced, right pelvic fx should heal with cage rest. Significant trauma to both eyes but hard to determine how visual bird will be until blood resolves from within the eyes.

P: Monitor use of right leg/foot, monitor vision, monitor figure 8/body band on left wing - change every 3 days with gentle PT. Collect blood, IOPS, and fecal tomorrow. place tail guard. Vet check Friday with wrap change. Rx Tramadol, start Meloxicam 5/1, fluids, gabapentin.
